A Sad, Sad Look: John Calipari Is Being Forced To Beg And Plead With Arkansas Fans To Show Up To His Games
Oof. This is a horrible look for Arkansas, John Calipari, Tyson chicken and probably even Wal-Mart. How do you have a coach begging for fans to show up? Bud Walton is supposed to be an elite home court advantage yet here you are. All this momentum they thought they had by hiring John Calipari and you can't show up. Sure, you're barely beating Lipscomb, Troy and Pacific at home, but there was no fanbase louder this offseason than Arkansas.
And I know what Arkansas fans will say. We're not 100%. Sure, that's true, Arkansas is the only team in the country dealing with injuries. It still doesn't factor in that John Calipari is running the same sets from his John Wall team. It still doesn't factor in the lack of shooting on this team. Trust me, I lived through this for 15 years. I know John Calipari better than anyone and what to expect when he starts figuring out his team. But, hey, this isn't about that. This is about the fact John Calipari has to beg Arkansas fans to show up. I guess you could argue that maybe Calipari should schedule a couple decent games at home. Troy is the best team they play at home in the nonconference.
Having to beg fans to show up? What a sad, sad look for a team who was supposed to be good. A program who was supposed to be this top notch, can't miss, fans yelling at anyone and everyone on social media. Now if you don't mind me, I'm gonna get back to watch some real coaching
